Dr. Düzgün Ateş is a specialist in ear, nose and throat diseases. His surgical practice focuses on rhinoplasty and nasal health, complemented by ear surgery, facial procedures and non-surgical treatments. He sees patients at his own practice in Bayraklı, Izmir, on Turkey's Aegean coast.
Born in Tunceli in 1985, he completed secondary school at Tunceli Anadolu High School in 2003. After graduating from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 2010, he passed the national residency examination the same year and began training in Otorhinolaryngology, which he completed in 2015 at İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.
From 2016 to 2019 he fulfilled his compulsory public service at Kars Harakani State Hospital. After working at İzmir Private Park Medical Centre from 2019 to 2021, he opened his own practice in 2021.

Approach
Every consultation begins by listening to the complaint and the expectation; the nose is assessed externally and endoscopically, and the airway is examined separately. When an aesthetic change is planned, the function of the nose is protected; when a functional operation is planned, the outer appearance is not neglected.
The decision is made after the examination, once the scope of the procedure, its possible risks and the recovery period have been discussed. The informed-consent process is part of this conversation.
Patients from abroad
Patients travel to Izmir from Europe, the United Kingdom and further afield. Communication is in English; a preliminary opinion can be given from photographs and a short history, and the treatment plan is confirmed at the in-person consultation. The length of stay depends on the procedure and is set out on each treatment page.
